Former South Carolina Gamecocks guard Hassani Gravett has signed with EWE Baskets Oldenburg. The team is based in Oldenburg, Germany and plays in the Basketball Bundesliga.
Gravett began his college career at Pensacola State College, where he won Panhandle Conference Player of the Year. He then transferred to South Carolina and went on to play three seasons for the Gamecocks. As a redshirt senior, he averaged 11.4 points, 3.8 rebounds, and 2.4 assists, while shooting 39.9 percent from three-point range. He was named the SEC Sixth Man of the Year. He was the third player in program history to earn the honor (Duane Notice, Brandis Raley-Ross).
After going undrafted in 2019, he was signed by the Orlando Magic. He was assigned to their G-League affiliate, the Lakeland Magic. During the season, he appeared in 42 games for Lakeland. In 2020, Gravett left for Europe, as he signed with MZT Skopje Aerodrom in the Macedonian League. In 2021, he returned to the Magic and split his time with Orlando and Lakeland. He played in eight NBA games; he averaged 6.3 points, 2.6 rebounds, and 2.5 assists in 21.4 minutes, while shooting 47.4 percent from the field and 42.3 percent from three.
In 2022, Gravett had stints with the Memphis Hustle and Raptors 905 in the G-League. The Raptors 905 waived him on January 25th.
Oldenburg has fielded some notable players over the years, including NBA champion Aron Baynes, former NCAA assists leader Scott Machado, and former Houston Rockets guard Bobby Brown.
