According to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, the New Orleans Saints have signed former South Carolina Gamecocks wide receiver Bryan Edwards.
Edwards is one of the most prolific offensive players in program history. He holds the following school records:
-Most all-time receptions (234)
-Most all-time receiving yards (3,045)
-Third-most all-time receiving touchdowns (22)
-Most consecutive games with a reception (48)
He played four seasons for the Gamecocks (2016-19). As a senior, he was a second-team All-SEC selection.
Edwards was selected by the Las Vegas Raiders in the third round of the 2020 NFL Draft. In 2021, he had a solid season, recording 34 receptions for 571 yards and three touchdowns.
During the offseason, he was traded to the Atlanta Falcons. He played seven games for the Falcons, but he received only 91 total offensive snaps and five total targets.
In November, the Falcons released him, and he spent the remainder of the season on the Kansas City Chiefs’ practice squad.
In New Orleans, Edwards will reunite with quarterback Derek Carr and join a talented Saints’ wide receiver group that includes Michael Thomas and Chris Olave.
