South Carolina transfer F commits to UMass

On May 4th, South Carolina Gamecocks transfer forward Daniel Hankins-Sanford committed to UMass, according to Michael Bergman of A10 Talk.

He entered the transfer portal on March 16th. He has three years of eligibility remaining; he is listed at 6’8″ and 233 pounds.

Hankins-Sanford was a member of the 2022 recruiting class. He attended Julius L. Chambers High School in Charlotte, NC. 247Sports Composite rated him as the seventh-best recruit in the state of North Carolina. He was the Gamecocks’ second-highest rated commit in the class, behind only projected first-round pick Gregory “GG” Jackson II.

Last season, Hankins-Sanford played in 22 games, averaging 2.3 points and 2.2 rebounds across 8.0 minutes.

UMass has now added two transfer commits: Hankins-Sanford and Saint Francis center Josh Cohen.

Meanwhile, five South Carolina players have entered the transfer portal: Hankins-Sanford, guard Chico Carter Jr., forward Ja’Von Benson, center Tre-Vaughn Minott, and combo guard Ford Cooper Jr.
