According to On3’s Jamie Shaw, South Carolina Gamecocks forward Daniel Hankins-Sanford has entered the transfer portal.
As a true freshman, he played in 22 games. He averaged 2.3 points and 2.2 rebounds in 8.0 minutes per game. In December, he had eight points and three rebounds in a win over Eastern Michigan.
247Sports Composite ranked him as the seventh-best recruit in North Carolina. He was the Gamecocks’ second-highest rated recruit in the 2022 class, trailing only G.G. Jackson.
The Gamecocks should see a major roster turnaround this offseason. Hankins-Sanford is the fourth Gamecock to enter the transfer portal, joining guard Ford Cooper Jr., forward Ja’Von Benson, and forward Tre-Vaughn Minott. In addition, Jackson is widely projected to be a first-round pick in the 2023 NBA Draft, so it would be shocking to see him return for a sophomore season.
