The South Carolina Gamecocks have offered 2025 five-star shooting guard Darryn Peterson, according to The Circuit’s Alex Karamanos.
Peterson attends Cuyahoga Valley Christian Academy in Cuyahoga Falls, OH. He is listed at 6’5″ and 195 pounds. Last season, he averaged 31 points, nine rebounds, and three steals, per MaxPreps.
247Sports Composite ranks him as the No. 1 shooting guard in the 2025 class. He is also ranked as the fourth-best recruit in the nation.
Peterson has also received offers from Akron, Arizona State, Arkansas, Baylor, Cleveland State, Indiana, Kentucky, LSU, Maryland, Ohio State, Pittsburgh, St. John’s, Texas, West Virginia, and Xavier.
On3’s Recruiting Prediction Machine gives Pittsburgh the best odds to land Peterson at 12.1 percent; they are followed by Ohio State (10.6 percent) and West Virginia (9.1 percent).
Peterson is the third recruit in the 2025 class to receive an offer from the Gamecocks, joining four-star shooting guard Jerry Easter and small forward AJ White.
