The Denver Broncos have signed former South Carolina Gamecocks kicker Elliott Fry.

This is not the first time that the Broncos have shown interest in Fry. Last offseason, they brought him in for two tryouts.

Fry had a legendary college career at South Carolina. He is the program’s all-time leading scorer with 359 points. In 2016, he hit a 55-yard game-winning field goal against Vanderbilt.

Fry was not selected in the 2017 NFL Draft. Since then, he has bounced around the league, spending time with the Chicago Bears, Baltimore Ravens, Carolina Panthers, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Atlanta Falcons, Kansas City Chiefs, Green Bay Packers, Cincinnati Bengals, Jacksonville Jaguars, and Arizona Cardinals. For his career, he has converted 5-6 field attempts and 5-7 extra-point tries.

The journeyman kicker has a real chance to win the starting job in Denver. Last week, the Broncos released longtime starter Brandon McManus. At the moment, Fry is the lone kicker on the team’s roster.
