The South Carolina Gamecocks have landed the top in-state recruit in the 2024 class!
On Friday, four-star offensive tackle Josiah Thompson announced that he is committing to South Carolina. Scouting College ranks him as the second-best offensive tackle in the nation.
Thompson attends Dillon High School in Dillon, SC. He is listed at 6’6″ and 280 pounds.
Thompson spoke to On3’s Chad Simmons about his decision:
“I just knew South Carolina was the place to be. I knew it’d be a great decision for me and my family. Having it be an in-state school, there are lots of opportunities that I could have at South Carolina. I could also become great at South Carolina and become a great player one day and reach my potential and go to the league. I knew South Carolina was the right decision to make.”
The Gamecocks have now gained commitments from two out of the top-five offensive tackles in the 2024 class (Thompson, Kam Pringle).
