2024 four-star safety Kelvin Hunter has committed to the South Carolina Gamecocks. He announced his decision on Twitter.
Hunter is an in-state recruit. He attends West Florence High School in Florence, SC. He is listed at 6’1″ and 190 pounds. In addition, he ran a 4.4-second 40-yard dash, according to his Hudl profile.
At West Florence, Hunter played both strong safety and running back.
247Sports Composite ranks Hunter as the 3rd overall recruit in South Carolina and 16th overall safety in the nation. The Gamecocks have now landed the top four 2024 in-state recruits (Hunter, Kam Pringle, Josiah Thompson, Mazeo Bennett).
Hunter committed to South Carolina over offers from Appalachian State, Auburn, Charlotte, Coastal Carolina, East Carolina, Georgia Southern, James Madison, Kentucky, Michigan, and Virginia Tech.
The Gamecocks are dominating on the recruiting trail in their home state. As a result, their 2024 recruiting class currently ranks as the seventh-best in the nation, per 247Sports Composite.
