On Tuesday, 2024 three-star offensive tackle Mike Williams provided an update on his recruitment. He said that the South Carolina Gamecocks were “in the lead” via SportsTalk Media Network’s Phil Kornblut.
Not long after, Williams made his decision. On Wednesday, he committed to South Carolina.
“Their fan base is like no other,” Williams told On3’s Hayes Fawcett. “Even if you aren’t a Gamecock they treat you like family.”
247Sports Composite ranks him as the 91st overall tackle in the 2024 class. He attends Charles Herbert Flowers High School in Baltimore, MD. He is listed at 6’6″ and 325 pounds.
Williams is the Gamecocks’ fourth offensive line commit in the class, joining Kam Pringle, Josiah Thompson, and Blake Franks. In his interview with Kornblut, Williams said he was the final piece of the team’s “Wall of Carolina”.
In addition, he is the program’s second commit of the day, alongside four-star in-state safety Kelvin Hunter.
