Maryland transfer DT visits South Carolina

South Carolina Gamecocks

Maryland transfer defensive end Anthony Booker Jr. aka “Tank” Booker is visiting the South Carolina Gamecocks.

Booker spent four years with the Terrapins (2019-22). Last season, he recorded 27 total tackles, five tackles for loss, two sacks, two forced fumbles, and one pass defended.

Booker entered the transfer portal on March 6th:

“Terp Nation, I appreciate all the support throughout the years filling the shell on a weekly basis. The best is ahead! With careful consideration and endless support from my family, I will be entering my name in the transfer portal with two years of eligibility remaining.”

On3 ranks him as the 20th-best available defensive lineman in the transfer portal. He previously visited Ohio State and Texas A&M.

The Gamecocks have already added eight players in the transfer portal this offseason (running back Mario Anderson Jr., wide receiver Eddie Lewis, tight ends Joshua Simon, Trey Knox, and Nick Elksnis, offensive tackles Sidney Fugar and Nick Gargiulo, and edge rusher Jaron Willis).
